October Program: “Birding the Heart of the Amazon”
Presenter: Andrew Steinmann, WCAS member, photographer, and author Date & Time: October 1, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. (Please note slight time change, 7:30 instead of 7:00) Description: The presentation will cover some of the typical birds and wildlife as well as some flora that can be seen along the Amazon River and its tributaries in western Brazil. September Program: “Wetland Birds of the Eastern US”
Presenter: Matt Valencic, Audubon Society of Greater Cleveland Board Member, Master Gardener Date & Time: September 3, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. Description: Wetlands are highly productive ecosystems that support aquatic AND terrestrial plants and animals. They provide nesting habitat for many species in the summer and resting/feeding habitat for migrating waterfowl and passerines in spring and fall. This presentation showcases iconic wetland species like egrets, herons, ibises, and rails along with raptors, waterfowl, warblers and more.
