2025-2026 Book Discussions

Welcome to our 6th season!  In the 5th series, each selection we read paid homage to Roger Tory Peterson, 1908-1996, an extraordinary artist and ornithologist, honored as the creator of the modern field guide. 2025 marks the 70th anniversary of Wild America, probably the first in the genre of “big year”/extensive birding excursions/memoirs.  Our selections this season will pay tribute to Peterson, as we delve into Wild America and Scott Weidensaul’s Return to Wild America. First on the schedule is Thor Hanson’s Close to Home, a guide to exploration and discovery, just outside our doorsteps.
