Presenter: Kathy Neugebauer, photographer and astrophotographer Date & Time: Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 7:00 PM in person and via Zoom Description: If it’s not cloudy, go out at night, look up … stars, planets, the Moon, constellations … is what we tend to focus on, yet there is so much more. Join us as we view the night skies in a much deeper way. Photographer Kathy Neugebauer will share with us deep-sky images of nebulae, galaxies and other dark sky phenomena using photo techniques allowing her to bring out the exquisite beauty of our night skies. You will be blown away … and humbled.

Presenter: Jamey Emmert, Avian Education Coordinator for ODNR Date & Time: Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. Description: About ten years ago, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) launched the Lake Erie Birding Trail, accompanied by a guidebook and website designed to help both Ohio residents and visitors explore birding hot spots along the state’s northern coastline. Fast forward to the present with Jamey setting an ambitious goal by visiting all 88 designated locations across the trail’s seven routes which she completed in a few weeks’ time. Her mission, for the foreseeable future, is to completely revise the Ohio Lake Erie Birding Trail Guidebook and accompanying website, ensuring both resources are up-to-date and continue to serve as valuable elements for birders. Some surprise additions to the program are in store too! October Program: “Birding the Heart of the Amazon”
Presenter: Andrew Steinmann, WCAS member, photographer, and author Date & Time: October 1, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. (Please note slight time change, 7:30 instead of 7:00) Description: The presentation will cover some of the typical birds and wildlife as well as some flora that can be seen along the Amazon River and its tributaries in western Brazil.
