Annual Year-End Gift

December 2016

Dear Fellow Audubon Member:

Your Audubon chapter, Western Cuyahoga Audubon Society, serves local communities by educating people about preserving birds, wildlife, and the habitats they need. I am writing to ask for your help in the form of an end-of-year gift to Western Cuyahoga Audubon Society.

In 2016, Western Cuyahoga Audubon Society sponsored Conservation, Science and Advocacy outreach activities reaching nearly one thousand people:
  • Attracted 40+ people to each program at the Rocky River Nature Center and to monthly bird field trips who conducted Rocky River IBA and other Ohio conserved properties conservation, restoration and advocacy monitoring and reporting.
  • Hosted and reported on multiple citizen science initiatives, such as the Audubon Christmas Bird Count, the Great Backyard Bird Count, and International Migratory Bird Day.
  • Successfully collected 200 signatures for the National Audubon Ohio Clean Energy Petition which were delivered by National Audubon to the Ohio Governor.
  • Partnered with the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo to bring bird-friendly habitat conservation practices to youth in school at Walton Elementary School in Cleveland, OH.
  • Engaged the public at the Lake Erie Nature and Science Center, at NASA Glenn Research Center, awarded special Science Fair awards at the Northeastern Ohio Science and Engineering Fair, participated in the NASA Sustainability Fair, the Cleveland Metroparks Great Backyard Biodiversity Bash, and more.
  • Updated Chapter brand and Internet technologies to successfully launch web and social media publishing of birding and conservation reports, member stories, and event announcements that reach a wide network of people who care about birds and habitat locally and globally.

Your Annual Gift will help us continue our work and help us reach our 2017 Chapter's three top goals:
  • To increase membership by 10%
  • Increase video education production by 10%
  • Increase member engagement in climate initiatives

Western Cuyahoga Audubon Society is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and a local chapter of the National Audubon Society.

Your donation is tax deductible minus the market value of any gift. A donor of $50 or more will receive a 12 oz. bag of Bird-Friendly Coffee. This year we will recognize donors in our newsletter, The Feathered Flyer. If you wish to remain anonymous, include your wishes in your online store purchase "note" section or let us know in an email here.

In 2017, with your assistance, we will continue our work. Thank you from the wild birds and wild places in our area.

Please make your selections below.

Sincerely,

Tom Romito
