The inaugural breeding season for the WCAS Lewis Road Riding Ring Bluebird boxes has ended, and we are calling it a success!
As many WCAS members (and others!) know, we put up 5 bluebird boxes by the field by the Lewis Road Riding Ring. The hope was that bluebirds and tree swallows would use the nest boxes and raise at least 1 brood. The good news is 3-fold!
WCAS is committed to this project for the foreseeable future. Success, continued interest and availability of funds will dictate the future of the program. We could use one more monitor. If interested, contact Kurt Miske at email@example.com.
We did a monitoring and were fortunate to have Penny and Fritz Brandau from Black River Audubon Society, walk through with us and give us some training.
The 5 new bluebird nesting boxes were installed this afternoon at the Lewis Road Riding Ring area. We are up and running!
