Taking advantage of spring-like weather and open water, the walk began at Huntington Beach. At the end of the walk the Barred Owl next to Lake Erie Nature and Science Center did not disappoint.

Date: Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. Location: Lake Erie Nature and Science Center, 28728 Wolf Rd, Bay Village, OH 44140 Leader: Tim Jasinski Results: 19 birders and 25 species Taking advantage of spring-like weather and open water, the walk began at Huntington Beach. Common Mergansers and Red-breasted Mergansers flew back and forth in groups. Common Goldeneye floated and dove. Scopes were a must to see most the birds. A most entertaining European Starling showed off a startling repertoire of bird calls: Killdeer, Common Grackle, Eastern Wood Pewee, Eastern Phoebe and Red-winged Blackbird, to name a few. At the end of the walk the Barred Owl next to Lake Erie Nature and Science Center did not disappoint. |
