I was attracted to the Scenic Slide because I've been a long time admirer of Bruce's work and because the Slide has special meaning to me - I've hiked and walked a lot of the pathway that runs along the Rocky River depicted so beautifully in the Scenic Slide.

The “Rocky River View Scenic Slide” is an original, Western Cuyahoga Audubon commissioned artwork by Bruce Buchanan, stained glass and decorative artist. Created in a process of firing hand-painted glass, the “Rocky River View Scenic Slide” is a timeless illustration of an iconic Lake Erie waterway known to many Northeast Ohio residents in the Rocky River Reservation, Cleveland Metroparks Rocky River, Ohio.

Rocky River View Scenic Slide
The “Rocky River View Scenic Slide” is an original, Western Cuyahoga Audubon commissioned artwork by Bruce Buchanan, stained glass and decorative artist. Created in a process of firing hand-painted glass, the “Rocky River View Scenic Slide” is a timeless illustration of an iconic Lake Erie waterway known to many Northeast Ohio residents in the Rocky River Reservation, Cleveland Metroparks Rocky River, Ohio. Inspired by the panoramic photograph, "Rocky River View" by Alice Merkel.
Bruce Buchanan, is a Stained Glass Artist from Cleveland, Ohio. Bruce has been recognized by the Cleveland Restoration Society for his residential work in the Gordon Square neighborhood where he lives. Currently working for Henninger's Religious Goods in Brook Park, he has just completed a huge project for the new St. Paul the Apostle Church in Westerville, Ohio. Over the last six years, he has reconfigured and restored more than 80 stained glass windows from closed Cleveland churches as well as creating almost 80 more painted stained glass windows to match. He continues to take on residential work and is working his way through the century homes of the Near West Side one window at a time. Visit Bruce Buchanan Design
The decorative artwork was inspired by the panoramic photograph, "Rocky River View" by Alice Merkel and featured in Western Cuyahoga Audubon's Spring 2017 "WATERSPIRITS" fundraising and membership campaign during the 41st Cleveland International Film Festival, March 29, 2017 - April 9, 2017.
