We saw a Sharp-shinned Hawk and a Red-shouldered Hawk who perched on a broken tree top and gulped a “critter” down. We had an unobstructed view at a very close range.

Description: Not a bad list for December. We saw a Sharp-shinned Hawk. We also had a Red-Shouldered Hawk in back on the Wildlife Management trail, near the most southern point, just before turning 90 degrees and heading to the trail that leads to the Farmers Market. As we were watching the hawk, he flew to the ground. Moments later he came up with a vole/mole/mouse. He perched on a broken tree top and gulped the “critter” down. We had an unobstructed view at a very close range. - Report by Bill Deininger
