Location: Rocky River Nature Center, Rocky River Reservation, 24000 Valley Pkwy, North Olmsted, OH 44070 Map
Leaders: Bill Deininger, Ken Gober, Dave Graskemper
Results: 5 Birders, 27 Species
Description: It was cold, but we were prepared. The sun actually came out later in the walk. We had a total of 5 hardy souls, binoculars in hand, with hats, gloves, scarves and warm attitudes. As the list indicates, we ended up with 27 species. We had a great look at a Great Horned Owl. The Owl was very cooperative, relatively close, perched, and unaffected by our presence. I have not had a Great Horned Owl sighting in the Rocky River Nature Center trails for many, many years. Many good looks at the Tree Sparrow. Also in the parking lot after the walk was finished, we had 3 Bald Eagles soaring together, possibly doing territorial displays. ~ Report by Bill Deininger
