January can be a terrific month for gull-watching along the Lake Erie shore. We’ll brave the frigid temperatures and strong winds to see if we can find both the common and rarer gull species, as well as other wintering birds like ducks, grebes, loons, and raptors.

Description: January can be a terrific month for gull-watching along the Lake Erie shore. We’ll brave the frigid temperatures and strong winds to see if we can find both the common and rarer gull species, as well as other wintering birds like ducks, grebes, loons, and raptors. Patience can be rewarded with a better understanding of the various plumages of our common gulls as well as glimpses of the relatively rarer “white-winged” gulls. We’ll plan on meeting at the North Olmsted RTA Park and Ride, 5575 Great Northern Blvd., North Olmsted, OH 44070.
