[00:00:00] Nancy Howell, Treasurer & Membership, Chair, WCAS, welcomed everyone to the meeting and provided updates about chapter administration, introduced Board members present, reviewed upcoming programs, and annual membership.
[00:05:12] Michelle Brosius, WCAS Board Member & Field Trip Co-Coordinator, provided updates about the August Second Saturday Bird Walk Report. In addition, Michelle reviewed Virtual Field Trip updates: she encouraged people to attend the August Community Meet Up, Wednesday, September 9, and talked about the September and upcoming field trips. Michelle also provided updates on the chapter's Social Distancing Birding Guidelines.
[00:12:11] Gloria Ferris, Director-at-Large & Fundraising, Chair, WCAS, was unable to attend the meeting and her speaker notes were presented by Nancy Howell. Topics included: an update on Guardian of Nature Meetings: please plan to attend the Thur Sept 17, and Thur Sept 24, 2020 both at 7:00 p.m. The Bird-of-the-Month Fundraiser and Photography Contest: the September bird is the Great Blue Heron and the October bird is the Wood Duck. A reminder and update about the WCAS Book Club sessions, Sundays, September 20 & 27 both at 7:00 p.m. for Author Speaker and Q&A with Joy Kiser, author, "The Other Audubon".
[00:15:22] Nancy Howell, reviews Fall Birding Challenges and Contests: Dead Tree Birding Challenge, Fall Warbler Challenge, Fledgling Birding Challenge, and Make A Mask-Be A Bird Contest!.
[00:22:43] Amanda Sebrosky, Board Member & Founder, NEO Chimney Swift Conservation Society provided updates on repairs to towers at Old Field, Cleveland Metroparks, Moreland Hills, Ohio and Lorain Metro Parks, in Strongsville, Ohio. In addition Amanda provided updates on community communications, website articles, and reminded viewers to check out the NEOCSS Facebook page (links included).
[00:30:25] Nancy Howell reminds viewers to join or renews during the WCAS Annual Membership Drive Sept 1-Oct 31, 2020. Annual membership extends from Sept 1 through Aug 31. Nancy announces the October 6, 2020 speaker, Rosemary Mosco who presents, "Bird and Moon: Comics With a Naturalist's Knowledge".
